The other day, I was having a chat
with one of my neighbors. She is an old aunty, who gave me some pep talk. I
liked the way she looked at life and at her age, she appeared so strong and
balanced emotionally. After the chat with her, she did not appear to me old anymore
and I could see the beauty in her emotional well-being. She was so happy with
herself and with life.
Most of us do not need a definition
for happiness; we know it when we feel it. However, there are times when we all
feel low for some unknown reason, which keeps troubling us.

These are the steps of highly happy
and successful people, which I thought I will share with you. Maybe it can pull
you through a tough time and bring a happier state of mind.
1. Stop worrying. Whatever happens
will happen and there is a reason behind all pain and gain.
2. Allow yourself to be a beginner.
No one starts off being excellent
3. Don't let your happiness depend on
anything outside you. You are the only person who can choose to be a happy or
sad and make yourself feel happy.
4. Stay close to everything that
makes you feel alive.
5. Listen to your body; it will lead
you to unlimited health.
6. Surround yourself with people who
will make you feel happy. Better still; call up that one person with whom you
are comfortable and who will definitely make you feel happy, at the end of the
conversation.
7. Make peace with your past. Do not
worry too much about the future and bask in the glory of the present. Don't
postpone joy.
8. See all setbacks as growth and
expansive opportunities.
9. Comparing yourself to others will
hurt your health and steal your joy. You are what you are.
10. Don't give up, EVER. Failure is
the stepping stone to success.
11. You always have a choice. Do not
settle for something less that you don’t deserve.
12. Stop chasing what’s not working.
Just let go.
13. Believe wholeheartedly in
miracles. Every day is a miracle.
14. Trust the universe, there is a
plan greater than yours.
15. Wake up every morning with a
grateful heart. Thank God that you are still alive.
16. Remember things take time. Give
the time some time.
17. No need to change people and you
do not have to change as well. Learn to accept people for what and who they
are.
18. Forgive yourself. We are humans
after all.
19. Your life is a creative
adventure. Go on a jolly ride and take things easy.
20. Release expectations and enjoy
the journey, there is no destination.
Last but not the least, have faith
God. He is the creator of all things, Joy and sorrow. Nothing can happen
without His knowledge. Believe that He will carry the burden of your welfare
and nothing can go wrong.
